Rockford Fosgate Ships Full-range Speakers and Amplifiers – Rockford Fosgate has start to ship its 2013 Prime series of speakers and amps. Power is increased over the former series, the two-way drivers use a horn-loaded design providing a phase-correct relationship with the mid-range driver and tweeter, providing better off-axis sound. All models come with grilles, speaker wire and connectors. The amps have comm,on chassis design with an increase in thermal mass per square inch, top-mount controls, and the six models also accept signals from low-level sources via RCA or from high-level speaker inputs via an included connector.

3D Movies Now on Samsung 3D TVs – Developer of 3D technologies DDD Group has added its Yabazam 3D video-on-demand subscription movie service to Samsung 3D smart TVs in the U.S. The service costs $9.99 per month and allows unlimited viewing of original 3D programming from Yabazam. It features a wide variety of 3D content, including independently-produced 3D movies, documentaries, music videos and animated features from producers around the world. Yabazam is releasing new 3D titles on a weekly basis. The free Yabazam 3D video streaming app is available on Samung smart 3D TVs in 12 countries and on LG 3D smart TVs in 13 countries. It has been downloaded more than 260,000 times.

Convenience and Demos Drive In-Store CE Traffic – A study of showrooming in CE retails stores has found that the two top drivers of brick-and-mortar traffic are convenience and live product displays. In contrast, the top three motivators for online purchases are price, convenience and selection/availability. Among consumers who used their mobile devices to comparison-shop while in showrooms, 42% ultimately made their purchase online while 30% bought the item in the store. Digital ads were found to heavily influence consumer behavior when shopping for CE products. Half of those surveyed said digital ads motivatedthem to visit an online store. More than 75% of consumers did some form on online research prior to going to a store.

Jabra Headset with FM Radio – Jabra has two new products (at $60 & $70) which are single devices for taking calls and listening to music. The upper model has a built-in FM radio, Bluetooth 3.0, seven hours of music time and eight hours of talk time, and comes with earphones with three sizes of ear gels. Both will be available in either black or white and will ship next month.
