Welcome to the 69th issue of the web magazine for audio, music and home theater - transitioned from the former national radio program AUDIOPHILE AUDITION - heard for over 13 years on public radio and commercial classical stations coast to coast. We are dedicated to your auditional wellbeing.
We have just added 15 more reviews again, making a total of 138 disc reviews this month - not counting our special feature on doo-wop! [See Jazz] Put us in your Favorites and come back often! We continue to review more SACDs & DVD-As than any other publication web or print. We have also added a one-to-five stars rating to all of our disc reviews, as we have been doing from the start with our DVD video reviews. Total timings of discs have also been added as available.
This issue we have 39 Hi-Res disc reviews - DVD-A, SACD, and xrcd - multichannel and stereo. The big news is the first of the RCA Living Stereo SACDs - including many three-channel ones! Our Special Feature this month is a guide to doo-wop and sweet soul music. We review three components this month:A subwoofer and accompanying amp from Thoroughbass, a video scaler from Focus Enhancements, and a 100w times 7 channels surround receiver from Rotel. Our DVD video reviews begin with 14 Music Videos! Among outstanding feature DVDs for your collection are Secret Window, The Tenant, Spring/Summer/Winter/Fall, and three iterations of the long-running Star Trek franchise. Plus 15 Jazz reviews.
