Utah Court Puts Injunction on Aereo – Mobile TV service Aareo retransmits broadcast TV signals to mobile devices via Cloud-based storage. They claimed they are not subject to retransmission sonset law because of their technological configuration. Aareo rents tiny antennas to subscribe era who access the multichannel service thru a Cloud-based app, which Aereo labels a “private performance.” A Utah court has, however, ruled in favor of local broadcasters, saying that a commercial enterprise should not be allowed to build a business off the exploitation of copyrighted programming without compensating the owners of that programming.

Denon Lanches Its First USB DAC – The DA-300USB, at $499, available next month, will be a 32-bit 192K asynchronous DAC connecting computers to audio systems via the USB-B port and bypassing the computer’s lower-quality sound card. It also has a headphone amp stage, one coax and two optical digital S/PDIF inputs. It handles formats including MP3, MP4, aAC, ALAC, WAV and FLAC HD up to 192K/24-bit and also supports the DSD format with 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz resolution delivered natively or as PCM.
