The Strangest Classical Music Concert – The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra joins with the New Orleans Airlift for a performance of Yotam Haber’s New Water Music on April 8th. The composer wanted to create a new version of Handel’s famous Water Music. After planning with various groups of community musicians and fishermen, the work will have a live performance on and around the lakefront, complete with waterborne choreography and improvisation. Crucial to the piece is the community element of amateur musicians, who do snippets of songs having to do with water thay audiences will recognize and may want to start singing along. The performance will take place at the Seabrook Boat Launch on Lake Ponchtratrain from 4 to 7 PM and is free and open to the public.
