Yamaha Brings MusicCast Wireless to Many Home Products – Their wireless multizone hi-res audio will be availbe with 20 products this year – not just tabletop speakers and soundbars. There are two AVRs, a stereo receiver, a pair of powered monitor speakers, two soundbars, an under-TV speaker bass, an AV preamp processor and a single-chassis tabletop speaker. The soundbars use Yamah’s proprietary Digital Sound Projector technology to generate sound beams which bounce off the walls and ceiling to produce surround and height channel effects, eliminating the need for surround speakers. A MusicCast firmware upgrade came out Aug. 20.
New Yamaha Preamp Has Immersive Audio Tech – the AVENTAGE CX-A5100 preamp ($2,999) offers both Dolby Atmos & DTS:X. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and MusicCast provide accessibility and freedom. There is 11.2-channel support, with the device using SABRE32 Ultra DACS with 192/32-bit processing. HDCP 2.2 compliancy is also included.
Onkyo Has New Hi-Res Audio Gear – Three highlights from its High Resolution Audio (HRA) speaker and headphone ranges are the X9 speaker, H500M on-ear and E700M in-ear headphones. The speaker has four 50mm drivers, a pair of 19mm tweeters and two passive radiators plus a high-end DSP, and is compatible with Bluetooth. The on-ear headphones have a super-wide frequency range of 7Hz-40kHz and are comfortable. In the US, UK and Germany, the e-onkyo HRA music store has teamed up with 7digital and rebranded itself as onkyomusic.
