Naxos Launches Video Library – A new streaming music video subscription service similar to the Naxos Music Library for audio will begin February 1st with more than 250 full-length videos of concerts, operas, ballets and documentaries from many prestigious performing arts labels. Legendary artists such as Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Martha Argerich and others will be streamed at either standard or high quality to Macs or PCs. Users will have access to pre-defined video chapters and individual arias and scenes, subtitles in up to five languages, an optional scrolling libretto text, and advanced search functionality. Naxos is the industry leader in streaming audio and music education. Cost of the subscriptions was not announced.

JVC Introduces 3D Image Processor – JVC Professional Products has introduced the IF-2D3D1 Stereoscopic Image Processor, which works as a 2D-to-3D converter and as a 3D L/R mixer for video content producers – whether they are converting archived 2D material or shooting original content in 3D. Using unique algorithms, the unit converts 2D content to 3D in real time, and offers four 3D mixed formats: line-by-line, side-by-side-half, above-below, and checkerboard. It can also output discrete left and right signals via HDMI or HD-SDI for dual projection or editing, and output can be adjusted for image displacement and 3D intensity.
SESAC Introduces Ruby Digsound Music Delivery System – Performing rights organization SESAC, with a diversified repertory from songwriters and publishers, has allied with Activated Content Corporation (ACC) to launch RubyDS – a web-based delivery system for watermarked audio files delivered via email. Tracks may be downloaded securely, with metadata identifying the sender and downloader attached via a unique watermark. Each watermark is specific to the terms and conditions of the audio file’s digital transfer. This protection was previously only available thru major labels and post production houses. A spokesman observed that RubyDS is a vehicle to take digital music to the next level. It delivers audio files while protecting the content IP and allowing for efficient collection of royalties. It is expected to foster a more efficient marketplace for music creators.
