Ultra-D 3D Without Glasses Technology – Stream TV Networks has announced a manufacturing partnership with Unihan Corp. to manufacture a 3D without glasses device. The glasses will be equipped with Stream TV’s proprietary Ultra-D technology, which can be ported to displays of almost any size with noticeable loss of brightness or resolution. The initial unit will be a 42-inch 3D display with accompanying Ultra-D Seecube converter box which autoconverts 2D, 3D animation and stereoscopic 3D into 3D without glasses in real time. Other products in the partnership are to include tablets, smart phones, laptops, PCs, digital communicators and various size HDTVs. The two firms will collaborate to create a worldwide 3D without glasses format based on the technology. The system is the result of years of research and development in optical delivery. It introduces a layer of lenses on the display panel that directs light at an optimal angle to create 3D images for the human eye. The amount of depth may be user-defined or computer-generated. Autoconversion happens in microseconds. The Seecube converts any content—including standard video, home video, still pictures, even Skype—to 3D without glasses.
