Courts Orders Recall of Chinese DVD Players – A U.S. District Court has found in favor of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) in a breach of contract lawsuit against Chinese company AKI Digital Electrical Appliance Co. The ruling says the company breached its CSS content protection license by selling DVD players lacking the security features which prohibit the unlawful reproduction and distribution of filmed entertainment. All players in violation must be recalled and the studios’ legal fees paid.
