One of the acknowledged leaders in the New Age music movement, Kitaro has been creating a flowing, multi-textured and very distinctive signature sound for over 30 years now. This is the third volume of his latest project – a series of peace-themed albums which were inspired by the Buddhist pilgrimage to the 88 sacred temples on the island of Shikoku in Japan. The journey by the monk Ku-Kai was taken over a millennium ago.
The music creates a rich and resonant flow around soaring semi-electronic melodic lines, nature sounds, and often with plenty of percussion, bells and even rock-like guitar solos. Sonics are always first rate, but there is also a recent Kitaro SACD which benefits from the envelopment of hi-res surround. Kitaro is currently on his Peace and Love World Tour.
