Evelyne Crochet’s 2006 recordings for Music & Arts of Books I & II of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier will go to ten AUDIOPHILE AUDITION readers who register this month on our simple form. Educated in her native France, Ms. Crochet studied with Nadia Boulanger and Edwin Fischer and was brought by Rudolf Serkin to the U.S., where she has taught at Brandeis, Rutgers, Boston and Georgia State Universities, and the New England Conservatory of Music. She has a vast repertory and has soloed with major orchestras in recital worldwide. The ten lucky winners of this 4-CD set will be announced here early next month. Conductor Pieter Jan Leusink calls this month’s drawing “the greatest and most humanly moving corpus of sacred music ever written.” It is a 50-CD! set of all 200 Bach Sacred Cantatas (which survived from about 300 originally) on Brilliant Records, and in early April it will go out to two lucky readers who register this month on our simple form and fill out all fields. All liner notes and texts are available at www.brilliantclassics.com. The newly-compiled set has not been available for a time, and the two winners’ names will be announced in our April Editorial Page.
