Shen Lu: Watercolor = PEIXUN: Autumn Moon on a Calm Lake; RAVEL: Miroirs; RACHMANINOV: Etudes Tableaux; DUN: Eight Memories in Watercolor – Shen Lu, p. – Steinway & Sons
Chinese virtuoso Shen Lu offers a series of watercolors cut from Hunan and Western sensibilities.
A 45 rpm 12″ effort, but not necessarily appealing to all audiophiles with good turntables.
MOERAN: Cello Concerto; Serenade in G; Lonely Waters; Whythorne’s Shadow Guy Johnston, cello/ Rebekah Coffey, sop./ Ulster Orch./ JoAnn Falletta – Naxos
Composer Edward Moeran emerges as more than “a singular success” in this fine assortment of concert works.
GRIEG: String Quartet No. 1; SVENDSEN: String Octet – Kocian Quartet & M. Nostitz Quartet – Praga Digitals
