Wonderful performance in better-than-the-CD sound—just. But is it worth the new investment without the surround sound if you have that?

Ah, late Vivaldi. The Four Seasons is wonderful music, but these late concertos show that Vivaldi’s innovative tendencies continued till the end.

VIVALDI: The Four Seasons; ALEXSANDAR SEDLAR: Spring in Japan – Nemanja Radulovic, violin & leader/ The Devil's Trills – Artact
To his exciting Seasons, Radulovic has added a sobering new piece by his Serbian compatriot.
Güher & Süher Pekinel, Two Pianos Live in Concert – “Bach Jazz” (2001/2011)
It’s a pleasant surprise to find that the swinging-Bach jazz-style arrangements of the Jacques Loussier Trio fit so well with these hoary two and three-piano concertos.
VIVALDI: Gloria in D Major, RV 589; The Four Seasons, RV 269; 315; 294; 297 – Mimi Coertse/Ina Dressel/Sonja Draxler/ Julian Olevsky, violin/Vienna Opera Orchestra/Hermann Scherchen – Tahra
The old magician Scherchen renders two Vivaldi staples in luxuriant–even eccentric–colors that never cease to engage us.
