Our free drawing for December is for two of Naxos’ My First Classical Albums – each a 9-CD boxed set that will be an ideal springboard for a lifelong journey thru classical music. Famous selections by Mozart, Beethoven,Tchaikovsky and Bach feature violin, orchestra, ballet orchestra, piano and lullabies as well as unexpected gems. The accompanying booklet has information on each piece of music.  You will also be getting another Naxos CD, My First Christmas Album.  It features some of the most popular carols as well as some other surprises. All you need to do to enter the drawing is simply to check below on the Register To Win banner and fill out all the few fields we ask. The two winners of the 10 CDs will be listed below early next month. Our lavish March drawing is for “Opera baroque” – a 39-DVD plus 4-CDs boxed set from Harmonia mundi consisting of over 47 hours of wonderful music, with top soloists and such directors as René Jacobs & William Christie. 17 complete operas are included in the set.  This is a set you will treasure for a lifetime. This month our drawing/giveaway is for two 45-CD boxed sets of The Complete Recordings on Deutsche Grammophon by famed conductor Ferenc Fricsay. It includes his probing recordings of such works at the Beethoven Symphonies Nos. 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 & 9 plus the Piano Concerto No. 3; Bartok’s three Piano Concertos, Concerto for Orchestra, Dance Suite and Music for Strings, Percussion & Celesta; Brahms’ Symphony No 2 & Haydn Variations; Dvorak & Bruch’s Violin Concertos; two versions of Dvorak’s New World Symphony; six Haydn symphonies; seven Mozart symphonies; Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring & Petrouchka; ballet music from Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and the Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky; opera instrumentals by Verdi, Ponchielli, & Tchaikovsky; plus the works of many others. The two winners will be chosen from those AUDIOPHILE AUDITION readers who register this month using our simple form. Our October drawing is for six collector edition sets of the complete Harmonia mundi 8-SACD set of the Complete Beethoven String Quartets performed by the world-famous Tokyo String Quartet. This quartet existed from 1969 to 2013 and has 40 landmark recordings in their discography. Their version of this cycle of the Beethoven String Quartets (Nos. 1-16 + the Grosse Fuge) is elegantly packaged as a set of eight multichannel hybrid SACDs which will go to six AUDIOPHILE AUDITION readers who this month register using our simple form.  Here is our review of the set. (Those who don’t completely fill out the form will not be eligible for the drawing, including those who registered in previous months.) The six lucky winners will be listed on our Editorial Page next month, where this month you’ll find more details on the drawing and the winners of last month’s drawing.

Conductor Pieter Jan Leusink calls this month’s drawing “the greatest and most humanly moving corpus of sacred music ever written.” It is a 50-CD! set of all 200 Bach Sacred Cantatas (which survived from about 300 originally) on Brilliant Records, and in early April it will go out to two lucky readers who register this month on our simple form and fill out all fields. All liner notes and texts are available at www.brilliantclassics.com. The newly-compiled set has not been available for a time, and the two winners’ names will be announced in our April Editorial Page.
