LG’s Solution to Sharing Content Between Devices – At a recent European show, LG showed their Optimus 7 headset and a Digital Living Network Alliance-compliant device which were able to share content wirelessly just be swiping a finger. The smartphone will automatically detect what compatible devices are on the same network and once identified let the user flick video or photo content around between them. 720p HD video or hi-res photos can be transferred from their phone to their TV, for example. LED TV Display Market Growing – Manufacturers of Light-Emitting-Diode video panels plant to reach 40% penetration in the fourth quarter of this year, and to exceed 50% in 2011. Samsung and Sharp aim to ship more LED panels than standard LCDs in Q4. Samsung, LG, Sharp, AUO and Chimei Innolux are the leaders in LED displays. Panel prices feel quickly in the third quarter due to oversupply and inventory adjustments downstream, but now they are falling even faster. Most of the LED panels are edge-lit, with only Sharp focusing on direct-type LED backlights.
