Where else can you get a bunch of cool 80s tunes and access to a Space Invaders game online? The answer: the VH1 Classic We Are The ‘80s Eddie Money disc. This collection consists of 14 of Money’s hit songs that span five albums released in the 80s. Recording is very 80s—lots of synthesizers, hard and heavy singing, and a bit harsh, brittle, and edgy. The included booklet goes on and on about what makes Eddie Money special. Truth is the guy had some pretty good hit songs the most notable of which is probably “Take Me Home Tonight/Be My Baby.”
Unfortunately, some of his most well-known tunes are two songs recorded in the 70s—”Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise.” They are not included in this set. A quick check on Amazon showed three other greatest hits collections: one called “Greatest Hits”, one called “The Best Of”, and one called “The Essential Eddie Money.” Assuming the recording quality can’t be much worse than this disc; I would get the latter and be done with it.
Songs included are: Take Me Home Tonight/Be My Baby; Walk On Water; Think I’m In Love; I Wanna Go Back; Let’s Be Lovers Again; Shakin’; Running Back; The Big Crash; Club Michelle; Endless Nights; We Should Be Sleeping; The Love In Your Eyes; Let Me In; Peace In Our Time.
