Freddy Cole has been around the block and back in the jazz scene. The 76 year old has possibly just hit his stride with his 17th release since 1990, Music Maestro Please, a splendid mix of jazz classics and crooner’s commons. When Freddy’s not busy in the studio he’s touring the world wide, hitting small pubs to playing sold out jazz festivals. A hard working soul man to say the least!
Kickin’ it old school on Music Maestro Please are Freddy Cole with the vocals, Bill Charlap on piano, Peter Washington on bass and Kenny Washington on the drums. There are many influences that Cole sites as enablers in his world of jazz. Growing up with older brothers in the scene was a big help, as well as being introduced to Billy Eckstein when he was young.
