Can’t tell you what the songs are about since no note booklet was supplied and I don’t know Portuguese, but with such attractive and exotically melodic songs and intriguing rhythms who cares? I gather all three basses don’t play at once – at least it didn’t sound like it. Tania Maria no longer sounds quite the Brazilian spitfire she was vocally in years past. This session is more laid back and her voice sounds lower. More Intimidade perhaps? Still plenty sexy. And still a must-have for her fans and most anyone who loves Brazilian jazz.
Tracks: Intimidade, Chorinho Brasileiro, E’ Tao Gostoso Seu Moco, Canto, Besame Mucho, Ayé, Agua de Beber, Evocacao, Está No Ar, Batebola.
