Electronics has revealed a new gigantic-storage Blu-ray disc featuring
16 separate layers on a single side, with 25GB capacity on each one for
a total capacity of 400GB. The new discs will be fully playable in
Blu-ray players according to Pioneer. At first they will be released
as read-only discs, with the rewritable format coming later. This
development has astounding implications for both movies and the gaming
world. Games could include full hi-def audio and video without
compression and many games could be released on one disc. It will aid
the popularity of the PlayStation3 over its competitors. The movie
industry will also benefit. It is felt this development will ensure
Blu-ray is the format of choice in terms of best quality for a very
