The Glorious Violin — Music@Menlo Live! We are featuring a superb collection from the Music@Menlo series, featuring the violin in all its glory! This 8 CD box set features a broad range of ensembles—solo violin, string duos, quartets, quintets, and even one octet and other chamber ensembles.  The composers date back from early Italian/Baroque through the 20th Century, including Tartini (yes, The Devil’s Trill), Bach, Schumann, Brahms, Ysaÿe, Beethoven, Kreisler… This promotion is provided by Music@Menlo, taken from their summer series entitled The Glorious Violin, with more info here.     Audiophile Audition has reviewed this release earlier this year:  The Glorious Violin Review. To enter in the drawing for this exceptional release, merely fill out the form here:  Register to win. Recently, Denver hosted The Rocky Mountain Audio Fest; our intrepid Audiophile writer Ric Mancuso was there, boots-on-the-ground, taking it all in.  He will be providing his impressions—though an event far too vast to be by even an army of reporters! AUDIOPHILE AUDITION began as a local program in San Francisco and then in 1985 as a weekly national radio series hosted by John Sunier, and aired for 13½ years on up to 200 public radio and commercial stations. In September […]
